About Wright-Language
Wright-Language is a combined on-line/off-line enterprise for the sole purpose of helping anyone, especially young people, learn a new language.
The founders are Harry Wright and his partner Yichen Wright.
Yichen is a fluent Mandarin speaker, so we decided to start our language training in Mandarin for local schools, a very popular subject with our younger generations.
We are based in Bristol, home of international balloon activities…
So, that’s where we are operating; we are up and running with students from our local schools who are wanting to learn about China, it’s language and culture.
We are sensitive to all our student’s heavy learning schedule so we take it easy to start with, until they are able to master some of the language. Then we find the motivation kicks in to help our young ones cope even better with their normal school curriculum… a win-win for us all.
We are also looking forward to helping more customers (students) of all ages and backgrounds.
Yichen Wright (Business Director and Language Tutor) has lived in China and spoken Mandarin all her life. Yichen is passionate about her role as your Mandarin tutor and has more than 10-years, customer facing experience in Chinese banking circles too.
Harry Wright, (Non-executive adviser and coach) has a training background where he taught thousands of corporate students throughout 17 years in personal development and more than 54 different subject areas within the disciplines of Change Management, Personal development and Leadership in business.
Together, we design and structure the programmes for teaching and learning Mandarin, then we work together for the delivery phase and support activities. Naturally, Yichen does all the Mandarin speaking plus the actual nitty-gritty of checking quality of student performance. Harry monitors your learning and checks your comfort with the subject to ensure you are clear and confident about the way you are progressing.

We need to know what is the reason for your interest in the Chinese Language before we set about shaping things for your learning. Of course there is always a basic plan to go from simple, popular words and their meaning to more challenging stuff with linked phrases and whole sentences. Much of the early part of your course is created and delivered to stimulate your ‘interest’ buds. That gives you an accelerated learning opportunity until you have mastered the basic sounds and form of the language.
We also use a computer-based sound recording system to help you play back and check your pronunciation, not forgetting the correct tones of course.
